    In just one word: EXCELLENT!
My husband and I were going to Walt's Seafood for lunch but it was closed for vacation, that was the best thing that could had happened. I looked for another place in Yelp and found this gem!
This restaurant is small, family owned with a great menu and excellent service. Our server Nancy was very friendly, the owner Bob came to our table to get our feedback. Food was fresh and unbelievable tasty!
We ordered the Bradens Island soup, this crab soup comes with a mini crab cake in the center like an island full of flavor. We also tried the Lobster bisque, it was delicious. As the entries we had Fish and Shrimp Tacos topped with pico de Gallo and the Crabcakes, they were 100% crab no fillings. We closed it up with a Key Lime Pie, yum!! It's homemade fresh everyday . Everything was fresh and delicious.

As a fresh seafood market, I would rate this place 4 or even 4.5 stars.  I think it is the owner's son that usually helps people out purchasing fresh seafood out of the case.  He is very nice, very knowledgeable and very willing to cut whatever size portion you want from any of the offerings.  He even offered some suggestions on how to cook, what fish stands up to what cooking method, etc..
First time there we got fresh shrimp and mahi mahi and took back to the condo to cook on the grill it both were absolutely fantastic!  Best meal I had the whole week!  Both the shrimp and mahi mahi were extremely fresh.  The prices were a little high in my opinion but I checked a few other seafood markets and it seems everyone is a bit high.

Our last night we were going to go there for lunch and then take back more for dinner that night but my rental car got a flat tire and I had to have it repaired.  We got there so late in the afternoon we just had dinner there.
We tried the Ahi tuna appetizer with water melon salad.  It was fantastic!
Next we got garlic butter peel and eat shrimp, fish tacos and group sandwich.
I understand being minimal when it comes to seasoning fresh fish to "let the fresh seafood stand out" and be the star but everything was completely under-seasoned.  We were having to add salt and a little better to everything at the table including the peel and eat shrimp.  These "peel and eat" shrimp are served hot and really are more like shrimp scampi....the butter and garlic flavor is nice but they needed salt very badly.
Fish tacos....the fish itself was cooked well and was very fresh....but the tacos were very bland.  I was hoping the sauce would bring some flavor and even a little heat but it did not.  Same thing with grouper sandwich only the fish was over cooked AND bland with no seasoning.
I really was hoping this place was going to be our "find" for the vacation.
I know some said their meal was very flavorful...Maybe we just caught them on a bad afternoon.  There was only one other table that had guests when we were there at 5pm, so it couldn't have been because they were too busy.
Unfortunately, my recommendation is to buy the awesome fresh seafood here and then take it back and cook it yourself where you can add salt during the preparation part!

Amazing FRESH seafood!! Cute little restaurant that just opened here in Sarasota!! Came with my boyfriend after experiencing insane wait times from other seafood restaurants in the area. What else did we expect going out on a Saturday night during season? Lol

We started off with the Smoked Mahi Fish Spread that was served with vegetable fingerlings and ciabatta bread - So GOOD! Then I had a cup of the Lobster bisque which was actually one of the best I've had in a while. It even had a piece of claw meat sitting on the top! The Shrimp Cocktail was also pretty good and didn't taste too fishy which is what makes me hesitant to try fish dishes.

I then had just the Dozen Clams for dinner which was alright but I liked it better with a drawn cup of butter that I ordered on the side! I honestly wasn't too big of a fan of the sauce it came in but that might've just been personal preference.

My boyfriend then had the Maryland Lump Crab Cakes which were absolutely divine!! I didn't even like the spicy remoulade that came with it because the crab cakes were so good themselves that they didn't need it! Also - no filler - added which is always a huge plus! The dish also came with a cob of corn and roasted baby potatoes on the side!

All in all we had a great dinner and hope to return to this amazing little restaurant and market! The prices were more than reasonable and I love that all of the fish is freshly caught! Excited to see more restaurants like these in Sarasota.

Love the food! Everything is so fresh and tastes amazing! I love the idea that it is family owned. The crab cakes are to die for along with the tacos.

Excellent!  A happy surprise!  Came here because Walt's and Owens was closed.  Turned out to be the best thing to ever happen.  The fish was super fresh and prepared wonderfully.   We enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and grouper tacos.  Both were excellent.  The shrimp were very large and cooked perfectly.   The grouper was so fresh  and a very nice portion on the tacos.  We opted for the pineapple salsa which was a nice addition rather than the usual salsa.  Service was fast and friendly.  Wonderful quiet little restaurant.  You can also stop by and buy some fresh fish to take home and prepare.
